On the eve of the Olympic Games, any sport becomes interesting and one wants to somehow touch this sports movement. Ice skating is both a very sporty and winter sport. What do you need to know to master ice skating?
Instructions
Step 1
Choice of skates.
Figure skates, hockey, running, walking - whatever you choose, the main thing is a feeling of comfort. The boot should be at least half a size larger, try on skates on warm socks. Skates made of artificial leather get wet less and dry faster, made of genuine leather - they absorb moisture well, feet won't fog up in them, made of plastic - they are tougher and cheaper than others. Try on different models, determine which ones are more convenient for you.
Step 2
The first steps.
Find your balance as you step on the ice. Take the basic pose: bend your knees and slightly tilt your body forward, try walking on the ice without lifting your legs off the surface. The situation is not as hopeless as it seems at the first time, use a side for belay. When you feel more confident, start sliding. Keep your legs at a slight angle to each other. You need to push off with the inner edge of the skate. After pushing off, slide on the other skate. In this case, the body weight must be transferred from the jogging leg to the supporting one. Learn to roll on each leg in turn.
Step 3
Slip.
Having learned how to take a long step, you can start mastering more complex elements:
• sliding on the outer edges of the skates is a running in a circle, when the free leg, when setting it on the ice, crosses in front with the supporting leg;
• sliding "flashlight" - when you move on the ice due to bringing and extending your legs;
• sliding backwards, etc.
Long-term workouts will allow you to improve your skills and perform a variety of arcs, constrictions, spirals, rotations and jumps.
Step 4
Braking.
Braking can be carried out in different ways: by pressing on the inner edge of the ridge of the leg that is behind, or by turning across the movement of the foot of the leg in front. Braking with the toe or heel of the skate is unacceptable, as it is fraught with injury.
