As you know, it is necessary to smear skis. Any ski wax is better than nothing. Especially if the skis are wooden. Although new plastic ones also need to be smeared with special ski ointments. Why in plural? Yes, because skis have to be smeared with two types of ointments or paraffins.
Instructions
Step 1
Glide ointment is applied to the heel and toe of the ski, improves glide, increases speed, respectively, increases pleasure. It is selected depending on the temperature and humidity of the air. It can be fluorine-containing and fluorine-free. A fluoride ointment, paraffin, for wet weather.
Step 2
Holding ointment prevents spontaneous recoil, sliding backward, of the ski, holds the ski in place during the push of the foot. It is also selected depending on temperature and humidity. It is applied to the middle of the ski, to the last, part of the ski (50 cm) up from the heel of the boot inserted into the mount.
Step 3
To apply paraffin, ointment on skis, you will need a special iron (you can take a regular, old one, without holes in the sole, put it on the lowest heat and keep a damp cloth on hand for quick cooling), a plastic scraper (you can buy, or you can do it yourself do it by looking at its design in the store), a nylon brush (hard enough), a soft rag (felt or woolen).
Step 4
The initial processing of new skis should be carried out with soft positive paraffins without fluorine, melting temperature 65-70 ° C.
Step 5
Gently warm up the sliding surface of the ski (such as a sock) with a warm iron.
Touch the base paraffin with the iron and drip the paraffin onto the heated sliding surface of the ski.
Step 6
Using an iron, melt the wax into the sliding surface. Make sure there is a layer of paraffin between the surface and the iron. Let the paraffin set for 10-15 minutes.
Step 7
Remove wax from the ski with a scraper. Use a brush to remove the remaining paraffin wax from the sliding surface of the ski and polish with a soft cloth.
Step 8
Repeat the same manipulations with the rest of the ski sliding surfaces. Apply the weather wax to the base paraffin in the same way, i.e. one that is suitable for the given temperature and humidity.
