Instructions

Step 1

Learn to keep your balance. Once you are on the trail, strap your boots to the ski bindings and try to stand up to your full height using only one stick. Learn to stand and ski with someone else. Ask for your support if you are not yet confident in your abilities. Subsequently, you will learn everything yourself.

Step 2

Practice all the features of skiing. To begin with, it will be enough for you to learn how to ride the classic move, which is carried out on a dedicated track. It can be used to increase speed on flat terrain. You just need to master it. So, start moving with your left foot. Extend your right stick forward and kick off the ground to propel your skis. Then, similarly, do the same movement with your right foot and left stick.

Step 3

Drive in this way on the track until the movements become familiar and you are not going to perform them on autopilot. Try to keep your back slightly bent. When you start riding down the mountain, tilt it even more and bend your knees. This will give maximum acceleration to the movement. On the plain, you can simply push off with your hands, but not move your legs at all. This technique will strengthen the muscles in the arms, shoulders and back, which are very important for fast skiing.

Step 4

Learn to ride and skate. This type is technically more difficult than the classic one. But if you wish, you will master it in a short time. So, keep in mind that with this move all parts of the body work: torso, arms, legs. Pick up a small hill. You need to climb on it, crossing the skis backward.

Step 5

Make a movement with your left foot to the side, pushing off with the left stick. Then, shift your weight to your right foot and perform a similar movement with the right stick. Move in this way, alternately pushing off with sticks and rearranging your legs.

Step 6

Pay close attention to cross and physical fitness. Train every other day, driving as many kilometers as your mentor tells you. It all depends on your current training and objectives. Also work out in the gym, exercising your back, legs, abs, arms and shoulders. All of these steps will allow you to ski quickly over time.
