In winter, one of the healthiest and most popular sports is skiing. Competitions are held quite often both between friends, colleagues, and between several organizations, cities or even countries. To win a cross-country skiing race, you need to be well prepared and know the rules of conduct on the track.
It is necessary
- - suitable clothing (including thermal underwear);
- - properly selected equipment: boots, bindings, skis, poles;
- - ointment and paraffin for skis;
- - iron;
- - preliminary training.
Instructions
Step 1
Find your competition clothes. Clothing should be comfortable and wick away sweat. Choosing the right socks is very important - choose abrasion-resistant, non-wrinkling, not too thin. If possible, buy special socks for skiers, if not, use woolen socks (with synthetics up to 50% possible), on which wear nylon stockings.
Step 2
Once you've decided on your socks, head out to pick out your boots. Be sure to try it on and try to walk, stand on your toes, if there is even the slightest inconvenience, refuse and take a closer look at others.
Step 3
Having picked up the most comfortable boots, choose a bindings for them. If possible, buy more expensive SNS or NNN bindings, with them you will have better control over your skis, they are reliable and easy to use. On a bad track, rubber bands can fly out, but the competition, as a rule, takes place on well-tamped tracks.
Step 4
When choosing skis, pay attention to length and flexibility. If you are planning to win a ski race in the classic style, take skis 25 cm taller than you. At the same time, you can slightly increase the length if your weight is above average, and if you are a thin girl, take shorter skis (so that they are less springy). In this case, the sticks should be 25 cm lower than your height.
Step 5
Start preparing for the competition early. Ski long enough distances at least 2 times a week. If the track on which the race will take place is located nearby, train on it. Familiarize yourself with the route and rules of the competition in advance. Find like-minded people and run small races.
Step 6
If skiing is not possible, train in the gym or at home. Run around the house, developing the respiratory system and leg muscles, squats, jump rope, etc. Get in good physical shape to ensure you win in skiing competitions.
Step 7
On race day, check the outside temperature and match your ski wax exactly to the weather and the type of snow. Rub the ends of the skis with paraffin using an iron, and the middle of the skis (about two of your feet above the end of the heel) with a firm grip ointment. As a result, the middle will become sticky and the ends slippery, which will give the greatest comfort and speed to your movement, ensuring victory in the ski race.
