Skating on skis presents some difficulties for beginners, since it is much easier to ride on a knurled track. However, this technique is easy enough to learn if you practice it all the time.
It is necessary
- - the form;
- - sticks;
- - skiing;
- - boots.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the right skis, poles and skating boots. Buy all the equipment you need only from specialized stores. Choose a pair based on your experience. If you have already skated for more than one season, then skis that touch the palm of your outstretched hand are suitable for you. The sticks should not exceed the level of the chin. Also, make sure that the boots don't wobble in different directions when you snap them into the bindings.
Step 2
Learn to cross your skis. After acquiring all the necessary equipment, it is time to practice. Fasten your boots. Practice stick-free skating techniques. So, take your left leg to the side after driving a couple of meters. Move your right leg in the same way while sliding. She should be slightly ahead. Do it all over again. Feel the rhythm of the movement. Do not focus too much on speed at first.
Step 3
Take sticks in hand. Now your task is to drive a few more hundred meters by skating, but already pushing off with sticks. Lean forward a little and start moving to the side with your left foot. At the same time, push off the ground with your left stick. Then shift your weight to the right side by making a movement with your right foot and pushing with your right stick. Cover a couple of kilometers in this way to get a feel for the skating technique.
Step 4
Pay special attention to cross and general fitness. Skating alone will not be enough if you also want to run many kilometers in this way. Train every other day, running 3-5 km. Try to increase the distance according to the recommendations of the mentor and current tasks. Do weights as well, exercising the muscles in your legs, arms, and back.
