If your ski bindings are out of order, you can help. You just need to buy new ones, but they will take a lot of money to install the mounts. It will be easier to install the ski mounts with your own hands.
It is necessary
- Skiing;
- Mounts;
- Drill and screwdriver;
- Thin marker;
- Awl.
Instructions
Step 1
First you need to note empirically where the center of gravity is located on the skis. The current mounts make it easy to identify. Take the thinnest part of the mount, which looks like a ruler, place it on the floor with an edge and place the ski on top and across the mount. Better that the angle is right. We do the same with the second ski. Now you can take up the drill with an awl.
Step 2
When you measure it, unscrew all three screws from one mount. Check the screw-in depth just in case. Place the screws on the ski and see how far the screw goes into it. If your skis are thin, then the screws will need to be replaced with shorter ones.
Step 3
Transfer the dimension to a 3.6-4 mm drill bit, marking the expected hole depth with tape. Now carefully drill three holes in the marked locations on each ski. Do not forget that modern skis have a honeycomb structure, although they are equipped with a special wooden backing. Therefore, drill carefully.
Step 4
So, you should have three holes for each ski. Now fix the ski mounts with a screwdriver, having first removed the bracket from the mounts. Just do not screw in all the way, first install the screws. If everything is smooth, tighten it completely.
Step 5
Replace the bracket by inserting the lower end into the loop and pressing against the bracket until you hear a click. Assemble the mount further in the same way: remove the screws from the next element, install "end-to-end" until it stops, closing the previous screws. Mark the holes on both skis, remove the mounts, drill the holes, screw the mounts. After screwing on the heel, close the hole with the plug.
