The ratings of national football teams and national associations influence the draw for the European Championship groups and the number of clubs that a country is entitled to represent in European club competitions. For national teams and national associations, such tables are compiled separately and the scoring system in them also differs.
The UEFA soccer team rankings only counts teams' games in qualifying or final matches for the UEFA European Championships and World Championships in the last five cycles. For participation in each such match, the national team receives 10,000 points, for a draw, the same amount is added to this number, and for a victory - three times more. Each goal scored adds 501 more points, and a missed one reduces the amount by 500. The last rule does not apply to goals scored in a penalty shootout - for participating in it, the losing team gets another 10,000 points, and the winning team - 20,000. the next stage of the Championships - 6,000 points are awarded for participation in the play-off stage, and 9,000 points for reaching the group stage (for the World Championship, this amount is awarded for reaching the 1/8). For reaching the quarterfinals, the prize is 18,000 points, for the semi-finals - 28,000, and for participation in the final - 38,000. The game for the bronze medal of the World Championship is added to both participants by 18,000 points. The final table is obtained after dividing all the obtained values by 5.
The National Association Ranking Table is based on the points earned by clubs in that country in the Champions League or Europa League over the past 5 years. The Association is awarded 2 points for each victory of its club and 1 for a draw if these games were played in the main draw of the tournament. And if these were matches of the qualifying rounds, the points awarded are divided in half. If a club reaches the quarterfinals, semi-finals or the final of the competition, then each of these events is rewarded with another point. Participants in the Champions League will receive an additional 4 points for reaching the group stage of the tournament and 5 points for reaching the 1/8.
In this way, points are calculated for each club of one country, then they are summed up, and the result is divided by the number of these clubs. After each completed draw of two European cups, the UEFA odds table takes on a new look and is used by this organization to draw up the standings for the next draw.
