It's never too late to start skating. And, best of all, at first, just try to stand on the skateboard, or slowly move forward. Your body needs to get used to the new position. Stand on the skate, try to shift your body weight from one leg to the other, find the balance of the skate.
Instructions
Step 1
Push off with one foot. If you are right-handed, then you also need to push off with your right foot. Then the left foot will be in front of the board. If you are left-handed, then your jogging leg, respectively, is left, and your right leg remains in the stance. Place your foot on the skate, directly above the front wheels, push off with your other foot, and place it directly on the board as soon as it goes. Ride slowly, learn to keep your balance.
Step 2
The next stage is braking. To stop, take your back leg off the board and slow it down. This is the most affordable and versatile way to stop. To slow down slightly, move your back leg a little back and transfer your body weight to it. A more advanced method of braking is heel braking. With the heel of your back supporting leg, press on the board so that the back of the skate crouches down and the front rises slightly into the air. In this case, the front supporting leg continues to control the skate.
Step 3
Learning to turn on a skateboard is also pretty easy. Extend your front supporting leg slightly forward and twist your body or shift your weight toward the side of the pivot. The fact is that when the skate is rolling straight, the axes of its rollers are parallel. But when turning the body or shifting the pressure on the inner surface of the board, the axis of the front rollers turns in the direction of rotation, and the axis of the rear rollers turns in the opposite direction. The skate turns. For a sharp turn, push harder on the heel of your back supporting leg, while simultaneously shifting your body weight towards the turn. The front wheels at this moment will rise, then with the foot in front you will be able to balance and control the angle of rotation. Do not try to make sharp turns right away. This is dangerous. Try to start by shifting your body weight to the back supporting leg, and stand only on it, turning the nose of the skate in different directions. Swap your legs, turn around in place. Only then go out to the traffic area.
