Step 1

English fistfight, called "boxing", is considered one of the most spectacular sports. Opponents in this type of single combat strike each other with powerful punches, which are protected by soft gloves. The scrum includes several short rounds; the judge (referee) controls the fight. The boxer's task is to knock the opponent down and deprive him of the opportunity to resist by knocking or knocking him down.

Step 2

Thai boxing differs from English fistfighting. In this form of martial arts, punches can be applied not only with fists, but also with elbows, knees and feet. The boxers' fight is conducted in a free style. Muay Thai is characterized by work in a high stance and strikes in the form of ligaments of several movements. In this type of martial arts, there are no formal complexes that are characteristic of, for example, karate.

Step 3

The Japanese art of karate is deservedly popular among fans of oriental martial arts. This name translates literally as "the path of the empty hand." Contact between rivals in karate is minimal. They exchange a series of short but crushing punches and kicks, aiming to hit vital points on the opponent's body. When teaching karate and conducting sports, a special system of formalized exercises (kata) is used.

Step 4

In China, and then in many other countries, the martial art of kungfu, which is also otherwise called "wushu", has spread. Chinese wushu wrestling is not homogeneous; it has several relatively independent schools and styles. This single combat is characterized by both high and low positions, kicks and punches. During the fight, the fighters have to move a lot in order to choose a comfortable position to carry out the attack and get away from the opponent's oncoming attacks.

Step 5

The martial art of aikido originated in Japan and became the synthesis of several hand-to-hand combat systems. The Japanese masters managed to create a combat system in which refined movements are combined with spiritual practices that contribute to the all-round improvement of a person. The main thing in aikido is to use the opponent's attack against himself. The master of this type of combat skillfully redirects energy and harms the attacker at the expense of the opponent's own efforts.

Step 6

Relatively recently, in 1938, a type of combat sports appeared, which received the name "sambo" (short for the words "self-defense without weapons"). This sport was actively developing in the USSR, and over time it became popular in all corners of the planet. The arsenal of sambo includes the most effective techniques taken from the most diverse types of martial arts. There is also a combat section of this struggle, which is being studied by law enforcement officers.
