Differences between yoga and pilates

Yoga, unlike Pilates, focuses on:

- static performance of asanas, a delay in each of them for a certain number of breathing cycles;

Pilates is more dynamic than yoga, but the movements are just as smooth and unhurried. When practicing Pilates, the emphasis is on working out the muscles of the abdomen and back, strengthening and developing them. Breathing, in accordance with this technique, should saturate the muscles with oxygen.

When choosing between yoga and Pilates, it is necessary to determine what training goal is pursued. The first will give calmness and harmony, coupled with impeccable balance, flexibility and good physical condition. A surge of strength, vigor, strong muscles, agility and excellent mood will bring Pilates classes. However, nothing prevents you from intelligently combining the two types of training.
