Badminton has been known since ancient times. But in ancient times, the game consisted only in a simple tossing of the shuttlecock. Moreover, the rackets and the shuttlecocks themselves differed quite significantly. The rules of the game and its name were finally formed in the middle of the 19th century.
Instructions
Step 1
Roll lots before playing badminton. Whoever wins the toss chooses the service or side of the court. Start the game with a serve from the right field. When feeding the shuttlecock, hit it with the racket only from below. On impact, the rim of the racket must be no higher than the server's belt line.
Step 2
To properly grip the racket, grab the handle so that the end end of the racket looks out as far as it does not interfere with the movement of the hand. Make sure your grip allows you to hit from a variety of positions. Place your thumb on the wide surface of the racket handle.
Step 3
At the time of service, both players must stand on their diagonally located service squares, do not step on the line, and do not leave at the time of the strike. When serving, deceiving feints and strikes on the shuttlecock feathers are prohibited. Try to get to the opposite side of the court on a diagonal.
Step 4
After filing, you can get off your seat and take any convenient place on your side of the site. During the game, do not touch the net with the racket or any part of the body, however, the shuttlecock can touch it.
Step 5
If the serving player commits a service error, it goes to the other. If the player receiving the service commits a mistake, 1 point is awarded to the serving side. The player who won the point has the right to serve again, but only after the change of sides of the court.
Step 6
Badminton can be played in pairs. To do this, four players are divided into pairs. The feeds are carried out in turn. When a point is won, the sides switch sides of the court.
