Ski slopestyle is a relatively new freestyle discipline that has already successfully debuted at the World Championships and has now been introduced to the Olympic Games. The literal translation of the word "slope style" means "style of skiing" (slope style). Currently, it is one of the most spectacular and interesting types of freestyle competitions.
The essence of the competition is that athletes perform tricks on a cleavage on which various obstacles are installed: rails (handrails); jumps and quarterpipes (a wall with a drive-in). Each athlete has two race attempts in each round. The judges evaluate the quality of the trick's performance according to the point system. The athlete who gets the best score will be the winner.
It's not enough to just do the same tricks well to win, you need to strive for variety. In order to demonstrate his skill level, the freestyler must necessarily take advantage of each type of obstacle, then the scores will be the highest. While the world championship in these competitions belongs to the Canadian team, the Russian team is still a beginner in this kind of discipline, but is already actively trying to make it to the semifinals and finals of the Olympic Games.
