Initially, the inside of the running belt is already coated with grease, but over time it needs to be renewed, otherwise the engine starts to deteriorate. The frequency of the procedure depends on the intensity of use of the device: if one person runs at low speed - once a year, several users or high speed - once every six months, and with intensive use by the whole family - once every two months. The process itself is not complicated, but it requires accuracy.
It is necessary
- 1) Silicone grease;
- 2) Adjustment key (supplied with the track).
Instructions
Step 1
Before any manipulation, be sure to turn off the treadmill and unplug it from the outlet. Failure to follow the safety precautions can result in electrical injury or finger injury.
Step 2
If the design allows it, loosen the tension on the walking belt. Some models do not have such a function, but do not worry: the ability to lubricate it is provided by the developers in any case, since this is one of the main points of care of the simulator.
Step 3
Gently lift the blade off the edge and slide a spray bottle (if spray lubricant) or bottle spout underneath. Do not be afraid to stretch or tear the coating - it is very durable and designed for many years of intense use. Pour in the amount of lubricant indicated in the instructions (the instructions must be attached to the package, otherwise the product is clearly of poor quality). Then repeat the operation from the other end. In total, you need to apply six or eight portions of grease (depending on the size of the structure) in different parts of the track. Resist the temptation to pour a lot, but only in two places. This is certainly easier, but in this case, the silicone oil will not distribute well.
Step 4
Now you need to gently re-tension the walking belt (if you have loosened it) and make sure it runs exactly in the center. If it moves off, then center it with an adjusting key: there are special holes on the back to the right and left of the canvas, an adjusting key is inserted into them and turns in the desired direction. This is easy to do, since the process itself is intuitive: move to the left - pull to the right, and vice versa.
Step 5
You can't use the track right away, since that's not all. You need to immediately turn on the track and drive it at a low speed (1-2 km / h) for at least five minutes so that the lubricant is evenly distributed. Then it is advisable to turn it off and not use it for at least several hours until it is completely absorbed.
Step 6
When you first work out after lubricating, listen carefully to the sound of the engine and the rustle of the belt to see how well the procedure went. If you are not happy with the result, make sure you get a good quality lubricant and repeat the process.
