Any object or phenomenon can be an object for meditation. In our practice we can use the method of Energy, our sensations, or the method of Consciousness, when we concentrate on something and by volitional effort we keep our attention. A good option would be when we can combine these methods. For a beginner practitioner, the meditation wishing happiness to all living beings is very suitable.
All people are different, our living conditions are also very different. Yoga tells us that everything that surrounds us, we have generated by our own actions or inaction, i.e. acceptance of certain situations.
From the point of view of yoga, nothing is accidental in this universe. Everything is fair and balanced, even if we sometimes don't think so.
When we start practicing meditation, you and I are in different conditions. For some it is easier for the practice itself, and for the whole life, for someone it is harder. In order to change our karmic situation to a more joyful one, start practicing the meditation "May all living beings be happy!"
From the practice of this meditation, we can get all the benefits that any meditation gives. But also, as an addition, we will get the opportunity to untie the knots of our negative karma.
Meditation consists in wishing happiness to all living beings that exist in our world. First, we wish happiness to all those close and dear, then to all those who are indifferent to us, to everyone who does not know us, and then we wish happiness to all our ill-wishers.
The person who thinks that he can build his happiness on the troubles of other living beings is wrong. Yoga teachings say that everything in this universe is interconnected. And it turns out that if we bring suffering to other living beings, then by and large we bring suffering to ourselves.
