The bicycle is one of the most popular means of transportation. Simple and reliable, it allows you to successfully drive both in the city and along narrow forest paths and rural roads. In order for the bike to always properly deliver you to your destination, it needs periodic adjustment and timely repair. One of the knots with which problems can arise from time to time is the rudder grip.

Necessary

  • - glue;
  • - electrical tape or leather strap.

Instructions

Step 1

In the simplest case, a plastic or rubber handlebar grip can simply start to turn and fly off, which interferes with control. To solve this problem, remove the handle from the steering wheel, clean the metal at its location with a file or emery cloth. After that, grease the metal and the inner surface of the handle with glue and install it in place. After the glue dries, the steering wheel will again firmly hold in its intended place.

Step 2

Please note that contact adhesives should not be used during this repair - that is, those that require a preliminary to withstand 10-15 minutes of the surfaces greased with glue. A common curing glue is required, capable of gluing different materials. You can also use epoxy glue.

Step 3

If one of the reasons for turning the handle is its mechanical damage, for example, tears, the handle must be put on glue and additionally secured with something from above. In the simplest case, this can be a layer of insulating tape, but it is rather fragile and wears out quickly. Better to use more durable materials such as a thin leather strap. It should also be put on glue, slip the end of the strap under the extreme turns and tighten, carefully cut off the excess. The handles wrapped with a leather strap are very comfortable, hands don't sweat or slip on them.

Step 4

Sometimes problems arise with the brake lever - as a rule, they are associated with its improper movement. It is very easy to adjust the correct tension of the handbrake cable; for this, find a tension nut or a wheel on the handle. By twisting it in one direction or another, adjust the handbrake handle travel that is convenient for you. If this fails, then the cable most likely needs to be replaced.
