Paintball is a military-style game in which teams or individual players compete against each other. In this case, the "battlefield" can be located both in a closed pavilion and in the open air.
The choice of paintball equipment is a responsible business. If you are just starting to master the basics of this exciting game, then you should not immediately spend money on expensive ammunition. It is better to use rental equipment to understand the features of a particular item.
The minimum set of paintball equipment includes: a protective mask, a marker with balls, gloves, knee pads and elbow pads. All of these can be rented from a paintball club or purchased from a specialty store.
Mask
The mask is the most important attribute in paintball. Its main function is to protect the eyes from the paint ball. The choice of a mask must be approached especially carefully. Make sure there are no gaps between the lens and frame. Opt for a double glass mask to avoid fogging. If you rent a mask, check that there are no microcracks on the glass.
Try on several types of masks and use the one with the widest angle of view. After all, your maneuverability on the battlefield will largely depend on this parameter.
Marker
The marker is a pneumatic paintball gun that works under the force of compressed gas. Markers are pump-action, semi-automatic and automatic.
Pump action shotguns require you to twitch the bolt after each shot. In a semi-automatic marker, the hammer after the shot itself returns to its initial position, without requiring manual cocking. This type of gun is most preferred for beginners.
Automatic markers are expensive and not every club still has them. After pressing the trigger, the balls from such a gun fly out in a continuous stream until the "magazine" becomes empty.
A "store" or, as it is also called, a feeder is a special container for storing balls, which is attached to the gun from above.
Feeders are gravitational and electronic. Gravitational devices feed the balls into the marker through a special channel simply by gravity. Electronic feeders have a stirring mechanism, which significantly increases the rate of fire of the gun.
Most markers are also designed with a replaceable barrel. The choice of a short or long barrel depends on many factors: the environment, the player's experience, strategy and combat tactics.
Paintball clothes
If you are a beginner and just want to taste all the delights of this game, then it is not necessary to spend money on specialized military clothing. It is enough to have tight trousers (jeans will do) and a comfortable top, better than dark tones. It is advisable to put on a couple of layers of light textiles under the main clothing. This will make the impact of the balls less painful.
Remember that clothing can get dirty during play. Therefore, keep a spare kit. The same goes for shoes. Choose according to the principle: it is convenient and not a pity. It is advisable to protect hands with gloves. Knee pads and elbow pads will not be superfluous.
