On December 28, the Russian youth ice hockey team played its second match at the world championship in Helsinki. The rivals of the Russians were the hosts of the tournament, who beat the Belarusians in the first meeting with a score of 6: 0.
The start of the match was for the Suomi hockey players. This was quite expected, because the Finns play on home ice and are one of the favorites of their group. Such an active play in pressure from the Finnish national team has borne fruit. Already in the fifth minute of the meeting, the Finnish hockey players took the lead after a goal by Sebastian Aho. A quick attack by our rivals led to a shot on goal by Georgiev, but our goalkeeper deflected the puck, but the Suomi striker was already waiting for the finish on the flank, who sent a shell into the goal.
After a missed goal, the Russians tried to transfer the game to the hosts' half of the field. As a result, Bragin's wards managed to earn a removal. The numerical majority was realized by Kirill Kaprizov in the seventh minute.
The end of the period was marked by another puck against Russia. When there was just over a minute left to play before the break, Fin Patrick Laine corrected the puck into the goal after a shot from the blue line. At the break, the teams went 2: 1 in favor of Finland.
The Russian national team started the second period with three penalties in a row. In the first majority, the Finnish hockey players increased their lead in the score (3: 1). But the Russians showed character. Bragin's wards scored in the minority, and then hit Finland's goal twice, having one more player. Andrey Svetlakov, Pavel Kraskovsky and Vladislav Kamenev distinguished themselves. But these were not all the goals in the period. The Russians also scored the fifth goal. The goal was scored by Alexander Polunin. Thus, the Russians by the second break from the 1: 3 score transferred the numbers to the scoreboard in their favor - 5: 3.
The Finnish national team again began the final twenty minutes actively, resulting in the fourth goal against the Russians. Alexi Saarela distinguished himself. After the missed goal, the Russian national team significantly added in the game, more and more often the Russians pressed the Finland national team to the goal. At the 54th minute, Radel Fazleev scored the sixth goal against the Finns.
Until the final whistle, the score on the scoreboard did not change. The Russian national team won a difficult victory over Finland with a score of 6: 4, showing character and showing their fighting qualities.
