Any active sport develops positive qualities in people - stamina, dedication, physical strength. In addition, sport allows you to keep yourself in good physical shape, which is very important in the modern pace of life. One of the most spectacular sports is figure skating. Hockey is the game of millions. Isn't it time for you to go out on the ice to become more self-confident?
Instructions
Step 1
To get started, buy skates or better rent them to save money.
Step 2
Choose from the following types of skates that are suitable for the size: for free skating, figure and hockey, depending on what sport you plan to do. Hockey skates are more immune to damage (for example, when hitting with a hockey stick). Figure skates are heavier than hockey skates and blunt faster.
Step 3
Choose an ice rink: indoor or regular - in a stadium or a special area. If you are just getting up on skates, then an indoor skating rink is for you. For the first lessons, choose a time when the skating rink has the least number of visitors. In this way, you will overcome the primary stiffness, self-doubt.
Step 4
Take your first steps on ice. They must be neat, to overcome the slip, you will need to tighten the muscles of the thighs, which may have been inactively used before. Get comfortable on the ice, take a couple of steps, get used to the rhythm of flexion-extension of the muscles when sliding.
Step 5
Remember that figure skating is a traumatic sport. Therefore, adhere to the following rules when sliding on ice:
- keep your back straight;
- legs should be slightly bent;
- shift body weight from foot to foot, maintaining balance.
Step 6
Learn the simplest elements of figure skating. Start with the simplest element, the Three of a Kind (one-legged loop). First, make a clockwise twist on your right foot on the outer edge of the skate. Tilt your body slightly forward (to the center of the circle described by the skater) and rotate. Slide on one leg until the movement slows down. After that, straighten your right knee at the same time as you twist your torso, with your left leg back slightly to maintain balance. Bend your right leg in order to beautifully finish this element in an arc. To learn how to perform this element perfectly, ask for help from an instructor or use the videos posted on the Internet. Complex figures will require more free time, and most importantly, the desire to train and improve your skills.
