British Sports Minister Hugh Robertson told reporters that the organizers of the London Games managed to meet the planned budget. A month and a half before the start of the competition, about £ 476 million of the funds allocated for the competition has not been spent. More than 60% of the funds for the London Olympics were allocated by the British government, 23% were provided by the National Lottery, and at least 13% - by the City of London.
The British Minister of Sports also noted that even in the context of the financial crisis and big problems in the international economy, London did not go beyond the amount allocated for the Games. This is despite the fact that the financing package additionally included the construction of an international center for journalists and the construction of the Olympic Village.
In June 2012, preparations for the Olympic Games are almost complete. Support services, including the transport network, also announced their readiness for the competition. London public transport and Heathrow Airport are able to cope with the large influx of people, organizers said.
