The Olympic Games in London are one of the main events of 2012 in the world of sports. Most of the tickets that give the right to attend the competition as an observer have already been sold out, but you still have the opportunity to get to the London Olympics.
Necessary
- - visa and air ticket to the UK;
- - cash or a plastic Visa card to pay for tickets to the Olympic Games;
- - proof of identity for exchanging a ticket voucher.
Instructions
Step 1
Try purchasing tickets from authorized retailers. Despite the fact that most of the tickets were sold back in 2011, the organizing committee of the London Olympics announced the sale of returned and unredeemed tickets. To become the owner of the coveted ticket, residents of the UK and the European Union must use the official website LOCOG (London Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games). Citizens of other countries can buy tickets from authorized representatives.
Step 2
In Russia, the company authorized to sell tickets for the 2012 Olympic Games is Cashier RU. To find out about the cost and availability of tickets, visit the website kassir-london2012.ru.
Step 3
Book the tickets you want and pay for them within 48 hours, otherwise they will go on sale again. After payment, you can pick up your ticket vouchers at one of the offices of "Cashier RU". In July, you will receive an SMS or e-mail with addresses in London, where you can exchange your voucher for a real ticket with proof of identity. Please note that the voucher itself does not entitle you to attend the competition.
Step 4
If the cost of tickets to the Olympics is too high for you or you did not manage to redeem them on time, try becoming an Olympic volunteer or finding work at Olympic venues. The recruitment of volunteers has already been officially completed, but try contacting the organizing committee of the Sochi Olympics or volunteer centers that operate on the basis of the country's largest universities.
Step 5
Browse the list of open positions on the London Olympics Organizing Committee website. If you meet the requirements and some luck, you can get a paid job at one of the Olympic venues and see the Olympic Games "from the inside". Keep in mind that you will need knowledge of English, as well as money to pay for accommodation and flights.
Step 6
If you are unable to purchase a ticket in advance or find a job at the Olympics, try buying tickets just before the start of the competition in London from resellers. In this case, be prepared to pay for the ticket you need several times, or even an order of magnitude more than its official price.
Step 7
Even if none of the above methods worked for you, do not despair. While in the UK during the 2012 Olympic Games, you will be able to observe some of the events for free. For example, this applies to most of the marathon and walking track.
