Football fans are always looking forward to the start of the decisive matches of the main club football tournament of the Old World - the UEFA Champions League. In 2014, the group stage of the tournament ended, revealing sixteen clubs that will take part in the Champions Cup in 2015.
The UEFA Champions League play-off matches of the 2014-2015 season are traditionally held at the end of February. The match days of the 1/8 finals are Tuesday and Wednesday.
The first elimination matches will begin on February 17th (Tuesday). In Paris, the local PSG will host Chelsea London, and Shakhtar Donetsk in Lviv will play with one of the main contenders for victory in the 2014-2015 Champions League - Bayern Munich.
On February 18 (Wednesday), two more Champions League playoff matches will take place in 2014-2015. In Gelsenkirchen, Germany, the local Schalke 04 will play against Real Madrid, and in Basel, the team of the same name will face the Portuguese Porto.
The next four matches of the 1/8 final playoffs will take place next week - on February 24th and 25th.
On Tuesday the 24th, Manchester City will host Catalan Barcelona in England, while the Italian champion of the last three years, Juventus Turin, will play Borussia Dortmund.
The final matches of the first round of the 1/8 finals of the 2014/15 Champions League will be the meetings between Arsenal London and AS Monaco in England, as well as the game of German Bayer and Atletico Madrid in Liverkusen. These two meetings will take place on February 25th.
