After the end of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, FIFA announced the composition of the symbolic team for the tournament. Among the eleven best players in the Brazilian world championship were five champions (Germans), three players from the Netherlands national team, two Argentines and one Colombian.

In the support zone, the best central midfielders, according to FIFA, were the German Toni Kroos and the Argentinean Javier Mascherano.
The trio of footballers supporting the only attacking forward represented Argentina's captain Lionel Messi, the flying Dutchman Arjen Robben and the main goalscorer of the Brazilian world championship, the young Colombian James Rodriguez (6 goals).
The only clean forward of the FIFA organization in the symbolic team included German Thomas Müller, who scored five goals in the tournament.
Thus, the scheme of the symbolic team of the 2014 World Cup is 4 - 2 - 3 - 1. The place of the coach in the symbolic team went to Costa Rican mentor Jorge Luis Pinto.
