It is necessary

  • Skates;
  • LED Strip Light;
  • cable;
  • 2 buttons;
  • battery holders;
  • batteries;
  • clamps and contact tape for securing the battery holders;
  • adhesive sealant;
  • solder;
  • soldering acid;
  • soldering iron;
  • scissors;
  • stationery knife.

Instructions

Step 1

Examine your skates for free space in order to successfully attach the LEDs, power supply, and other electronic components.

Step 2

After you have made all the necessary measurements, prepare the following parts that you will need to assemble two modules for the device: 8 super-bright LEDs (radiation angle 120 degrees), 2 SMD 1206 jumpers, 0 Ohm, 4 SMD 0805 resistors, 4.7 * Ohm, 2 chokes SMD 1206, 3.3 * μH, 2 diodes BAT54 (no letter), 2 tantalum capacitors SMD A, 1 μF, 2 drivers ZXLD381 and 2 battery compartments.

Step 3

Assemble the electronic circuit shown in the figure below. Select the brightness of the LEDs you need. To do this, change the inductance of the choke. If the inductance is greater, then the supplied current will be less according to the datasheet. If the difference in the brightness of the glow is too large, then adjust it by changing the resistance in the circuit.

Step 4

Solder all parts securely into one circuit, fixing them to the board. Imagine and make some kind of case for the module. Use lightweight plastic for this.

Step 5

Attach the device to the bottom of the skate in the area between the runner holders. Place the LEDs on the left and right edges of the board. This is so that they evenly illuminate the area under the ridge on each side. Position the power supply in the center so that the battery compartment is directly under the blade. Use AA or AAA batteries for power supply, depending on the size and space of your device.

Step 6

You can also integrate a switch to open and close the circuit so that you can conveniently turn on and off the lights on your skates at any time. However, this is not particularly necessary, as while riding, you are unlikely to want to turn off the backlight.
