A well-laced pair of ice hockey skates is a guarantee of a comfortable ride. Of course, if you do not lace up a skate well, this does not mean that while driving on ice it will fly off and roll away to no one knows where. But he will not sit on his leg, and this can affect your speed, which is extremely important in a game like hockey.
Instructions
There are several nuances in this seemingly easy matter. There are rules that will help you win a few seconds in moments where you need to accelerate.
Care should be taken when choosing laces. Choose nylon laces for the best option. They tend to stretch by several millimeters. In terms of their properties, they are similar to a regular elastic band, which will allow the lacing on the boots not to relax.
The lacing method should be chosen for a pair of skates. It is advisable to lace from the outside to the inside. This creates pressure on the tongue of the skate. We lace up very tightly until the beginning of the bend of the foot (just above the ankle), then we slightly loosen the lacing. This is done for free bending of the foot while running or in other extreme situations when a sharp bend of the foot is required. In order not to be mistaken here, you should squat on every second pair of holes (hooks), so we know that the lacing is not too tight.
When finished lacing, the skates can be tested. In a well-laced pair of skates, you cannot put your finger under the laces. You did it that way, it means you succeeded.
As practice shows, the most convenient skates with hooks for laces, rather than holes.
When lacing the topmost hooks, wind the cord from top to bottom. Thus, a loop is obtained, which gives a lot of tension to the lacing.
