Coastal cluster facilities

The most important Olympic facilities were erected in the Imereti Lowland of the Adler District of Sochi. An ice rink with a capacity of 12 thousand spectators was built to host figure skating and short track competitions. A small ice arena for 7 thousand spectators and a large ice arena for 12 thousand spectators are intended for hockey matches. Also on the coast there is an indoor skating center, which can accommodate up to 8 thousand people at a time. Spectators will be able to watch curling competitions in the specially built Ice Cube center. The largest sports facility in the coastal cluster is the Fisht Olympic Stadium, which will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2014 Olympics. In the vicinity of the coast, an Olympic village was built with 3 thousand seats.

Mountain cluster objects

On the territory of the Krasnaya Polyana village there are sports facilities that form a single mountain cluster. In the area of the Rosa Khutor ski resort, a ski center, a freestyle center, a snowboard park and a second Olympic village were built. A freestyle track with 14 thousand seats runs along the plateau, where competitions in ski acrobatics and mogul will take place. All facilities are located very compactly, this will provide the most comfortable conditions for both the participants in the competition and the spectators of the Olympics.

The epicenter of the mountain cluster's sports life will be the Gorki Gorod park, built on the territory of the Gornaya Karusel ski resort. It houses a mountain media village and a cultural and sports media center. The complex of ski jumps "Russkie Gorki" was built on the northern side of the Aibga ridge, not far from the village of Esto-Sadok and the park "Gorki Gorod". The latest sports jumps are installed here for holding competitions within the framework of the Olympics.

Cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions will be held in the Laura complex, which is located northeast of Krasnaya Polyana. The complex includes two separate stadiums, two separate track systems, a shooting range and competition preparation areas. At the Alpika-Service ski resort, a bobsleigh track was created with a finish area overlooking the Rzhanaya Polyana tract.
