In a few weeks, Sochi will host a grand event - the 2014 Winter Olympics. Many countries are preparing for this event, not to mention the Russians, and even more so the residents of Sochi. So, how do the residents of this resort town, which has had the honor to host numerous guests, feel about hosting the Olympics in their town?
Problematic preparation
Preparation for this project lasts exactly 7 years. And all these years the residents of Sochi endure hardships due to the lack of basic amenities, the increased staff of the police and incessant road works. There is often talk among Sochi residents about where to go before March!
The feelings of these people can be understood. Mass preparation, hype, excitement - all this affects the mood of the inhabitants of this beautiful city. In addition, the enhanced security measures make the residents of Sochi feel like they have declared war time. People are tired of seeing soldiers, trenches and weapons every day. But it should be understood that all this is done for the good of the population and the successful holding of the Games.
The Olympic traffic rules also create a nervous atmosphere. These are, in a way, additions to the current rules that restrict the freedom of drivers. It should be said that for several years the speed of movement of cars in a provincial city does not exceed 20 km / h. And the preparation for the Olympics is also to blame.
Difficulties due to the communal structure
In connection with the preparation, planned power outages were often in effect in Sochi. Some neighborhoods were left without electricity for weeks. And, since the connection of objects has already begun, the situation for Sochi residents will not improve in the near future. Naturally, this negatively affects the emotional state of Sochi residents.
Here are some more annoying factors: in December, all central areas of the city were left without heating; three huge residential areas were left without hot water in January; the lack of light forces us to actively use electrical appliances, which in turn leads to more frequent accidents due to overload.
Many tourists, spectators and athletes are looking forward to February 7 - the start of the Games. The residents of Sochi themselves notice that it will not be the opening, but the closing of the Sochi 2014 Olympics, that will bring them more joy.
As for the residents of the Caucasian regions, they will not be welcome at the upcoming games, and they will not be allowed to enter Sochi. This was stated by human rights activist Magomed Mutsolgov. This discrimination adds grief to the hearts of the Sochi people.
Therefore, residents of Sochi can complain about what is happening. Preparing an event takes away their joy and peace. Moreover, they are worried about transport and road conditions at the time of the Games. Will they be able to get to work at this time without any problems or will they have to stand in traffic jams for a long time. We hope that these and other problems will be solved and the residents of Sochi can be proud of the World Olympics, which took place in their hometown!
