The boxer's hand is his main working tool. When a blow is made, it is the hand that bears the greatest load. Therefore, hand injuries are the most common injuries that are received when boxing. At the same time, many still believe that they do not need boxing bandages. But in vain. Boxing bandages are not intended to protect the skin from damage, but to protect the hand from dislocation, bruising, joint damage and other injuries that are common.
Instructions
Step 1
The length of professional boxing bandages is from 4.5 meters, but it can vary from one and a half to 5 meters. Lovers prefer short ones. Although logically, the larger the bandage, the better it protects the hand. However, the length of the bandage should be chosen based on the size of the brush. The standard width of the bandage is 5 cm, but there are also 2 and 10 centimeters. By the way, it is better to take non-elastic bandages, because the hand breathes better in them and there is no risk that you will transfer blood vessels on the hand, as happens with elastic bandages.
Step 2
There are many ways to bandage hands. Everyone chooses the most convenient for himself. Keep in mind that professionals bandage the brush a little differently than amateurs, as they use 4-5 meter bandages. For an amateur, 2-2.5 meters will be enough.
Step 3
First, roll the bandage into a roll so that the loop that secures the bandage on the arm remains outside. Slip this loop over your thumb, along the edge of your palm, slide this bandage under your hand and wrap around your wrist. Now it's the turn of the thumb. Wrap it twice, go down and wrap your wrist again. Wrap it twice this time. Go down from the wrist to the hand and wrap it twice. Again, double the thumb and wrap the wrist twice. Finish the bandaging by wrapping the brush twice. Secure the bandage with Velcro or elastic. If fastening with Velcro, then it should be either on the wrist or inside the palm.
