Freefly belongs to the young areas of parachuting. It appeared in the eighties of the last century. Today, freefly is recognized as one of the types of parachuting in which the official championship is held.
Literally "freefly" stands for free fall, which, in principle, corresponds to its meaning. The fall occurs at a higher speed (250-270 km / h) than usual, while the body is in an upright state (head up or down), sometimes in a seated state, so control over the passage of the jump becomes more difficult. During jumps, the position of the body changes: athletes perform different tricks, become in certain poses. Any changes in the position of the body during flight affect the change in speed and, accordingly, the direction of flight, and therefore athletes must be able to fully control their body.
There are different types of free-fly jumps, among which there are: single and team (2 people) jumps, Big Way (4 or more people), 3D formation (group jump). The most common jumps in which several people participate. Then you can create different shapes during the flight, using all the variety of freefly poses.
The championship is also attended by two people together with a videographer. Their performance lasts only 45 seconds, during which they must most accurately show their ability to control the body, show as many figures as possible. In order to practice freefly, you must complete a course of study (compulsory basic training) and at the same time have experience in parachute jumping.
Today you can learn this sport in a wind tunnel. The fall time here is more than two minutes, and not 45 seconds, as in a real free fly. The pipe is designed for eight people, so it will be possible to work out different poses, shapes, combinations, movements between partners. During the training, the fall rules themselves will be explained: how to keep the flight level, watch your partner, not disconnect from the internal pilot, and others. It is also necessary to have basic training in acrobatics, otherwise it will be difficult to control the position of the body during the flight.
So, freefly is one of the most exciting and extreme types of parachuting. He captures with his positive emotions, which will certainly appear during the jump. You need to have a good enough basic background to practice freefly, and you should take it very seriously.
Self-study will not bring any results. This requires special training, which takes place in several stages. To save your own and someone else's life, you must respect the preparation and safety rules during the flight.
