Recently, many people have been complaining of pain in the collar area. This zone includes the back of the neck, as well as the space between the shoulder blades. Most often, this zone hurts in people who work mainly with their hands. These are hairdressers, engineers, computer scientists and others. This is because it is in the collar zone that the main muscles that support the arms are located.
Instructions
Step 1
If one of your family members has neck pain, give him or her a massage. Measure the person's blood pressure first. The session is prohibited if the "patient" has low blood pressure, since massage will lower it even more.
Step 2
Now proceed to the massage itself. If the procedure is done at home, have the person lie on their stomach. As a last resort, have him (her) sit with his head resting on his hands or on a table. It all depends on how comfortable the person will be.
Step 3
First, apply the massage cream to your skin with light, smoothing strokes. Try to tactilely determine if the skin has clamps (tighter muscle tissue than the rest of the body). Memorize such places so that you can then process them more carefully.
Step 4
Start by massaging the deep muscles along the uppermost thoracic spine. Place your hands on the client's skin, then fold them and run the “wave” ten times over the skin with your thumbs.
Step 5
Now you can start relaxing the neck muscles of the "patient". Grasp these muscles in a "pincer", then begin to gently knead them, bending your fingers. Just do not press too hard to lower the pressure below normal or not to dislocate the vertebrae.
Step 6
Having finished with the neck, move on to the back muscles of the shoulder girdle, located between the upper edge of the shoulder blades and the spine. Pay special attention to these muscles as they are very bulky. It is better to massage these muscles not in one, but in several methods. For example, start massaging them with your fingertips, putting them together in different ways. Also remember to fold the skin with the proper muscles.
Step 7
Now you can massage the area between the shoulder blades (right and left in turn). To do this, you need to put your hand behind your back and "go" slightly under the bone.
Step 8
You can finish the massage of the collar zone with smoothing movements similar to those with which the massage began. After that ask the "patient" to lie on his back and lie down for 5-10 minutes. A sitting patient needs to sit in the same position. This is the end of the massage.
