Appreciate the design and practicality of the cruiser's supporting structure - its frame. Stand next to your bike and check if it is the right height for you. The frame of a properly fitted bike will be a few centimeters below your waist. When riding, you should feel free to reach the steering wheel with slightly bent arms. If these conditions are not met, the back and arms will get tired.

Inquire about the material of the cruiser frame. Focus on the ease of construction and your financial capabilities. The fact is that frames made of various aluminum alloys have the best ratio of weight, strength and price. The construction, made of steel, weighs significantly more, but will cost less. There are models with a combined composition of parts, when individual frame elements are made of steel, and the rest are made of titanium or carbon.

If you're looking for a bike that's lightweight and easy to handle, go for a Kevlar or carbon frame design. Keep in mind that these composite materials increase the sensitivity of the cruiser to external mechanical influences; such a bike will perceive unevenness of the road worse.
Step 4
Find out what material is used to make the wheels of a walking bike. It is advisable to choose a cruiser with rims made of aluminum and its alloys, as this will reduce the overall weight of the bike. Aluminum wheels are stronger than steel and less prone to corrosion. If you plan to cycle exclusively on high-quality asphalt roads, choose tires with narrow tires without deep embossing.
Step 5
Climb onto the bike to fit in its saddle. It should be comfortable and adjustable in height, and even better - in the horizontal direction. With the appropriate setting, the rider, extending his leg down, should fully reach the pedal. Pay attention to the shape of the saddle as well. Narrow saddles are good for sports, wide ones are good for walking.
Step 6
Finally, once again carefully inspect all the main components and parts of the cruiser. They must be complete, serviceable and free from visible defects. Chipped paint will certainly not affect the ride quality of the bike, but it will leave an unpleasant residue when you discover a defect after purchase.
