A winter fishing tent is a necessary and useful equipment for every ice fishing enthusiast. A good tent, properly set up, can make fishing comfortable and efficient. But the market is flooded with cheap Chinese products that are completely inadequate for winter tents. Usually, such models are very inexpensive and are actively sold in hypermarkets.

Step 1
The most important part of the tent is the frame. Examine the frame carefully. It is better to choose an aluminum frame from an alloy of the B95 group. If the frame is made of fiberglass, make sure that the walls of the tubes are not thin, and that the tube itself does not become covered with "fog" when bent.
Step 2
The next important part of the tent is the awning. The awning must be firmly attached to the frame (or it will be blown off by the wind). The optimal material of the awning is oxford fabric with a polyurethane coating. A multi-layer tarpaulin is a good economy, but make sure it is carefully stitched. The ingress of moisture into the inner layers will lead to rotting of the awning.
Step 3
Pay attention to the design - if the tent has a dense, and even multi-layered awning, ventilation windows and a breathable upper part, which is usually made of breathable fabric, which is different from the fabric of the main awning, is required.
Step 4
We advise you to choose the shape of the tent according to your taste - modern tents have decent reliability, and that a cube, that a hemisphere will serve you for a long time.
Step 5
Be sure to pay attention to the presence of loops on the awning to secure the stretch marks. In strong winds, they are necessary to hold the tent in place. You can sew them on yourself, or you can immediately buy a well-thought-out product.
Step 6
All winter tents must have a long (at least 150-200 mm) skirt. This eliminates blow-through.
Step 7
Look at the shape and number of doors - remember that you will be entering the inside of the tent wearing a fisherman's outfit, which adds to the awkwardness.
