Among the modern sports popular among both adults and children and adolescents, table tennis is especially popular among many people. Many people know and love to play table tennis, as this game is exciting, develops quick reaction and trains several muscle groups at once. In order to play table tennis, you must have not only a racket and balls, but also a special tennis table. You can make such a table with your own hands - having your own table tennis table, you get rid of the need to go to the stadium, and you can play at home at any time.
It is necessary
- - two sheets of polished plywood 1525x1525 mm in size, 15-20 mm thick,
- - four boards 25 mm thick,
- - two bars 3 m long with a section of 50x50 mm.
Instructions
Step 1
Start working on the table by making a rigid 220x120 cm frame.
Step 2
Place a wooden bar in the middle of the frame. Then, at the corners of the frame, strengthen the table legs of the same length using self-tapping screws and wood glue. Make sure the legs are set symmetrically to each other and the table is firmly on the floor or on the ground. Treat the frame and legs of the table with a special antiseptic wood treatment.
Step 3
Make a tabletop from plywood prepared in advance. Cut the plywood sheets up to 137 cm on one side, and then attach hooks on the bottom side of both sheets, with which you can fix the sheets to each other. For strength, screw the plywood tabletop to the frame with self-tapping screws and furniture corners. Sand the plywood surface with a sander, and then polish and clean from dust and dirt.
Step 4
Cover the countertop with wood antiseptic in several layers, waiting for each layer to dry and sanding each layer with sandpaper. Get the surface of your tabletop as hard and smooth as possible so that the tennis table meets all the requirements of the game.
Step 5
After finishing the countertop, install a tennis net, which you can buy at a sports store, using clamps. The top edge of the net should be 152.5mm high. Place the mesh flat in the middle of the table at the junction of the plywood sheets. The tennis table is ready.
