Yoga is a discipline that is over three thousand years old. It teaches you how to unite mind and body through specific exercises. Asanas (as in yoga the postures taken during meditation are called) allow not only to normalize the body's work, but also to change consciousness.
If you do yoga, you should know that proper nutrition is one of its most important conditions. If a person overloads his stomach, this leads not only to excess weight, but also to poor health. Therefore, yoga teaches not only to take the correct postures and control breathing, but also to consume food correctly.
Heavy food overloads the stomach, so some asanas can be difficult to do. But this, of course, does not mean that you should starve. Yoga classes do not imply serious restrictions. There are only some recommendations that it is advisable to follow. The last meal should be at least 3 hours before the start of the class. Therefore, it is best to practice yoga in the early morning. After training, it is recommended not to eat for about an hour.
After exercise, it is recommended to eat food containing a large amount of calcium and potassium. For example, a banana with milk or a vegetable salad with fatty cheese. In your daily diet, you need to include low-fat fish and legumes, because these products are a source of protein.
It is advisable not to eat fatty foods, fried, spicy. Try to avoid sauces (especially mayonnaise), caramel, fast food, snacks, baked goods, and gummies. These products practically do not provide the body with any nutrients.
One of the teachings of yoga says that the stomach should be filled by two-quarters with food, one-quarter with drinks, and the last quarter should be left unfilled for the free release of gas during digestion. Therefore, get up from the table with a feeling of slight hunger.
The main meal should be from 9 am to 1 pm. It is during these hours that the digestive organs work best. The last meal should be no later than 7 pm, because later the human body is already tuned in to rest.
Some time after you start exercising, you may notice that your dietary habits have changed. And this is completely normal, because the work of your body has returned to normal. Many people report that they have practically stopped eating meat and salt. Therefore, it is not necessary to deal with the issue of nutrition especially. The time will come, and you simply will not want to eat junk food.
