The Olympic Village is the name of the microdistrict intended for the residence of the participants in the Olympic Games. After the completion of sports events, the property is usually sold out and the village becomes a regular residential area.
Only members of the sports delegation have the right to live in the Olympic Village. However, it is a mistake to think that it is composed exclusively of athletes. They need professional support to perform successfully.
No athlete can go to the Olympics without his coach. The coach supervises the direct physical preparation for the performance, and also analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents, develops a performance strategy, and corrects mistakes.
Participation in competitions, especially those that involve several stages of selection, requires a lot of physical and emotional stress. Injuries during the performance are not uncommon. Therefore, next to the Olympians are sports doctors and psychologists who monitor the physical condition of athletes and help them cope with the load.

Since the Olympics is a major international event, the sports delegation also includes officials - representatives of the National Olympic Committee.
Sometimes athletes and their attendants refuse to stay in the Olympic Village. This usually happens in case of dissatisfaction with the conditions in a residential complex or because the area is too far from the venue.
Those who are not part of the sports delegation can get to the Olympic Village only if they receive special accreditation.
