The European Championship is one of the most exciting football events in the world. Many countries are fighting for the right to host it, the final stage of Euro 2012 will be held in Poland and Ukraine - the application of these particular countries won in 2007. The final stage matches will be played from June 8 to July 1, 2012.
16 teams will take part in the group stage of the final of Euro 2012: Poland, Russia, Greece, Czech Republic (Group A), Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Denmark (Group B), Spain, Italy, Croatia, Ireland (Group C) and Ukraine, England, Sweden, France (group D).
Since the right to host the championship was won by an application from two countries, the matches will be held both in Poland and in Ukraine. The opening match between the teams of Poland and Greece will take place on June 8 in Warsaw at the National Stadium. On the same day, a match between the teams of Russia and the Czech Republic will take place in the city of Wroclaw, at the city stadium.
On June 9, two matches will take place in Group B: the Netherlands national team will play with the Danish team, the match will be held in Kharkiv at the Metalist stadium. On the same day in Lviv (Arena Lviv stadium) a match between the national teams of Germany and Portugal will take place.
On June 10, matches will be held in Group C, at the PGE Arena in Gdansk they will try to find out who is stronger, the national teams of Spain and Italy, and at the city stadium in Poznan, the teams of Ireland and Croatia will meet in a duel. On June 11 in Donetsk at the Donbass Arena the teams of group D - the national teams of France and England - will meet. In Kiev, at the Olympic Stadium, football teams of Ukraine and Sweden will compete against each other.
On June 12, at the Wroclaw City Stadium, a match will take place between two more teams of Group A - Greece and the Czech Republic. In Warsaw, teams from Russia and Poland will meet in a duel. On June 13, a group B match will take place in Lviv, the teams of Denmark and Portugal will meet. On the same day, teams from Germany and Holland will compete in Kharkov.
On June 14, the teams of group C - Italy and Croatia will meet in Poznan. Two more teams from this group, Spain and Ireland, will play in Gdansk. On June 15, the teams of group D - Sweden and England will meet in Kiev. The match between the national teams of Ukraine and France will take place in Donetsk.
The final matches in Group A will be held on June 16. The national teams of the Czech Republic and Poland will meet in Wroclaw. In Warsaw, fans will be able to watch the confrontation between the teams of Russia and Greece.
On June 17, the last matches in group B will be held. The national teams of Portugal and the Netherlands will meet in Kharkiv. The teams of Denmark and Germany will sort things out in Lviv. The last matches of Group C will take place on June 18. Teams from Croatia and Spain will meet in Gdansk. The national teams of Italy and Ireland will fight in Poznan.
The group stage of the European Championship will end on June 19 with matches between the teams of group D. The teams of England and Ukraine will meet in Donetsk, and the teams of Sweden and France in Kiev.
The quarterfinals will be played on June 21-24. The winner of Group A will face the second-placed team in Group B on June 21 in Warsaw.
