Pole dance appeared in our country relatively recently, about 10 years ago, and it came not at all from striptease, as many ordinary people think, but from Indian and Chinese circus art. Now the popularity of this wonderful sport is rapidly gaining momentum both abroad and in Russia.

Pole dance is the general name for pole practice. They can be conditionally subdivided into the "dance" category, sometimes it is called "exotic" or "artist" and into "fitness" (pole fit, pole sport, pole acrobatic). Since the pylon has not yet received the status of an official sport, there is no uniform terminology of directions, as well as the names of tricks. In the first case, mainly dance elements, plastics and movements to music are practiced, with a small number of simple tricks. Most of the lesson takes place in the "parterre", that is, on the floor. In sports areas, complex acrobatic stunts and tricks are performed. Technique and purity of performance are very important here, moreover, these types require a lot of effort and sports training.

Pylons are static and rotating. Usually now they are made "two in one". Elements on a rotating pylon are very spectacular, the speed of rotation can be controlled by the position of the body relative to the pylon.

There are no age restrictions and no special physical training required for pole training. Of course, if you did gymnastics, yoga or at least fitness, then it will be much easier for you. But the main thing here is perseverance and regular training.

For training, you need a special uniform - the shortest possible shorts and a short T-shirt that reveals the belly. The fact is that you will hold onto the pole in the most unusual positions precisely due to the adhesion to the skin, the fabric on the pole will slide. For difficult tricks, especially at first, you can use chalk for better grip.

The first few sessions most likely will not work out almost anything. This is not scary, because first you need to get used to it. The study of twists and elements goes "from simple to complex", each trick requires multiple repetitions, so, first of all, you should be patient. In addition, some pole positions cause pain and bruise on the skin, but as a rule, this does not stop anyone and is taken for granted. On the contrary, bruises are a matter of pride for the pilonists.

Along with practicing tricks, it is very important to devote a lot of time to stretching, since without it, it becomes impossible to perform some elements, especially if you are going to participate in competitions in the future. It is better to train all elements immediately on both hands and on both sides.

Pole exercises put a lot of stress on your back, so if you have problems with your spine, it's best to consult your doctor.

Of course, hard work is behind the seeming ease of execution, but training on the pole will give you, over time, a toned slender body, great mood and self-confidence.
