The growth of muscle mass, including biceps, can communicate not only how successful you are, but also your overall athletic potential. Measuring the volume of the biceps is not difficult. Measurement should be done with a centimeter.

It is necessary

  • -biceps;
  • -tape measure.

Instructions

Step 1

Measure your biceps not immediately after an intense exercise, but in the so-called "cold" state. That is, at least a few hours after training. This is the only way to determine its true size, immediately after training, the muscles temporarily increase, but this volume then decreases.

Step 2

Take measurements in two positions. First, bend your arm at the elbow and work a centimeter around the bicep along its most prominent points. On the outside of the hand, the centimeter should lie on the triceps. Write down the result. Then straighten your arm and completely relax it. Measure again at the same points as before. And again commit the result. If you are working on increasing muscle, then you need to record each measurement so that it will be easier to track progress later. Naturally, it is better to keep organized notes in one document on a computer or in the same notebook.

Step 3

Pay attention to the difference between flexed and relaxed biceps. This difference is called an excursion and usually reaches no more than six centimeters. The greater the difference, the greater your athletic potential. At the beginning, it usually does not exceed two to three centimeters.

Step 4

If your excursion is more than six centimeters, most likely you made a mistake in the measurements. However, keep in mind that this parameter is also affected by the triceps, and therefore, when training, pay no less attention to working on this muscle.

Step 5

When measuring, remember that the centimeter should not dig into your hand, but also not dangle. For correct statistics, measure the volume of the biceps about once a month, at the same time of day, preferably on an empty stomach. The measurement is carried out several times at once to make sure that the numbers obtained are accurate.
