Hips are one of the three main measured parameters of body volume in both men and women. It is necessary to correctly measure the volume of the hips, especially if you order clothes online. The slightest shift up or down will lead to the wrong selection of linen, tights, trousers, skirts or dresses.
It is necessary
- - Tape measure,
- - mirror,
- - large mirror,
- - a pen,
- - paper.
Instructions
Step 1
Get the right tailor's tape or tape. Measurement, for example, with a construction tape or a wooden ruler, will not always guarantee the accuracy of the volume not only of the hips, but also of the waist, chest, etc. A centimeter tape is usually sold in needlework and sewing stores, it is made of fabric or oilcloth. To measure body parameters, you can use a thick thread or rope, which, after taking measurements, roll it up several times and attach it to the ruler, and then multiply the result by the number of turns.
Step 2
Take off all clothing that might tighten on your hips and belly. You should also eliminate clothes that are too bulky, from which your hips will be several centimeters larger. Take a deep breath and exhale to relax your belly and buttocks as much as possible (do not deliberately protrude your belly forward and do not bend your buttocks back too much). Stand up straight and straight.
Step 3
Wrap the tape around your hips. The tape should adhere to the most convex points of your body - this is almost always on the buttocks and the most voluminous places below the waist on the sides.
Step 4
Use a small pocket mirror to catch your reflection in the large mirror in the back. Make sure the tape measure is straight over your buttocks and parallel to the floor. To find the hip measurement line, you can step back about 7-8 cm down from the waist line. You will find the latter if you grasp yourself by the waist with your palms, spreading your elbows to the sides. The tape should fit comfortably to the body, not cut into the skin or loose too much.
Step 5
Finally, write down your result. This is your actual hip measurement.
