Life sometimes makes us run like a squirrel in a wheel. Often, having come home after work, there is no time to go to the gym, or it is simply closed. What now, to quit playing sports? No no and one more time no. The way out is to install a horizontal bar at home.
Instructions
Step 1
When choosing the type of horizontal bar, you must remember that it must be carefully measured in height so as not to bang your head against the ceiling. The choice of the optimal height at which the horizontal bar should be hung depends largely on your height and the distance from the floor to the ceiling in the apartment. It is advisable to hang a horizontal bar at a height of 220 cm from the floor and if you are large, then bend your legs a little when performing the exercise. But in any case, it is better to leave 35-40 centimeters from the ceiling. This gap will help keep the whitewash on your ceiling intact. The length of the horizontal bar should be at least 1.5 m in order to be able to pull up with different grips.
Step 2
If you opted for a wall horizontal bar, then the main thing to remember is that the horizontal bar must hold very firmly and not fall on you during training. Choose a load-bearing wall at least 15 cm thick. The horizontal bar is best fastened with wedge-type anchor bolts (8x60 or 10x80 are usually supplied with a standard horizontal bar).
Step 3
Alternatively, dowels can be used. Dowel holes are best drilled 60 mm. To do this, you will need a drill, the dowels themselves and drills for working on concrete.
Step 4
In both cases, it is necessary to take into account the material of the wall, the structure of the fastening, the value of the permissible load on the fasteners. These data should be found in the store when buying a horizontal bar or on the manufacturer's website.
Step 5
In order for the horizontal bar to hold tightly, it is necessary to fix it correctly. As a rule, the design is made in such a way that the fasteners work on a cut or the horizontal bar is in place.
Step 6
When installing the horizontal bar, there is a risk of the drill getting into the reinforcement. Do not persist, but try to drill into the same hole, but slightly change the angle to either side and, thus, bypass the reinforcement. You can try using a sharp-edged victory drill in punch mode. In this way, you can slowly drill through the reinforcement. If that doesn't work, try drilling a new hole slightly higher or lower.
Step 7
The horizontal bar in the doorway is not very convenient. You will have to bend your legs, and the grip width cannot be varied. But if the design features or apartment renovation do not allow doing otherwise, then you can install a horizontal bar that is screwed into the doorway. This option is perfect for children.
