Car tires can be used as a good boxing trainer. With the help of a tire, you can develop impact force, endurance and movement dynamics.

It is necessary

  • - car tire
  • - sledgehammer
  • - rope

Instructions

Step 1

To develop shoulder muscles and arm strength, you can train on the tire, hitting it with a sledgehammer. This exercise will help you learn how to invest in a blow and not waste energy on unnecessary movements. Find an old, oversized car tire and take a sledgehammer weighing no more than 10 kilograms. Heavier sledgehammers weighing up to 30 kilograms are used in wrestling training, they are not suitable for drummers.

Step 2

Hands should hold the sledgehammer by the handle at different distances from each other - this is the main difference from wrestling training with a tire, where the athlete holds the sledgehammer by the end of the handle. Hit the tire with a sledgehammer, using not only the muscles of the arms, but also the legs and back. Invest in a punch with your whole body.

Step 3

You can train on a tire from a frontal or combat stance. In the case of the front stand, the striking hand is in the middle of the sledgehammer handle, the other hand is near the end of the handle. The feet are parallel to each other. In the case of working from a combat stance, the position of the arms is maintained, the legs are in a standard combat position, the body is turned sideways to the tire.

Step 4

When striking the tire, try to do it in a relaxed way every time and invest in the blow as much as possible when the sledgehammer comes into contact with the tire. Acceleration here should be accentuated, as when chopping wood.

Step 5

You can develop general strength and endurance by dragging a tied tire along the sand. This exercise is used by many heavyweight boxers. Tie a strong nylon rope around the tire, make a large loop at the free end of it and sling it over your shoulder like a harness. As you run, you will drag the tire along with you. This exercise is best done on sandy beaches.

Step 6

Jumping on a tire helps to develop coordination and develop the habit of staying relaxed in combat. Place the tire on the floor and stand on it in a fighting stance (one foot on the front edge of the tire, the other on the rear). Start jumping on it, alternately changing your legs during each jump.

Step 7

The tires can also be used as a punching bag. Place several small tires on top of each other, make four holes in each tire and thread a rope through them. You will end up with a hollow cylinder, held together along four axes with a rope. Hang this structure from the ceiling and start training on it, as with a regular pear.
