The magnificent city of Rio de Janeiro has the expertise to host large-scale events. Thousands of tourists come to the capital of Brazil every year to celebrate the New Year and the famous traditional carnival. Moreover, major sporting events have already been held in Rio de Janeiro - in 2007, the Pan American Games, very popular in the West, were held, which were recognized as the best in history.

The authorities of this beautiful city have been busy reducing the crime rate in order to show their best side at the Olympics. To do this, additional militia units have been created to patrol urban slums and criminal areas. This work has already shown its positive side - the crime rate has dropped significantly. The Rio de Janeiro authorities plan to bring this level to almost zero by 2014.

On June 7, a commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) visited the city of the next Summer Olympic Games with a control check. Employees of this organization noted that in Rio de Janeiro, the construction of such important objects as the Olympic Park and the press center has not yet begun, contractors for the construction of the shooting complex have not been identified.

On the other hand, the city has already begun construction of the rest of the Olympic facilities, the completion and delivery of which is expected in three years. These include all major infrastructure buildings and projects (metro lines, highways, and more).

The Rio de Janeiro authorities say the Olympic Park is slated for the second half of 2012, and all sports facilities in the Deodoro area will be completed in 2013. The IOC hopes that all construction work will be completed by the deadline, with the next inspection expected in November-December 2012.

The opening spectacle of the Olympics promises to be the brightest and most fantastic in the history of the Games. Brazil will welcome its guests with all its cordiality and amaze with its sparkling temperament.
