One of the most notorious episodes that happened on the eve of the draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on December 6, 2012, was the refusal to participate in the ceremony of the three-time winner of such tournaments, Pele. According to the legend of world football, he was afraid to pull out uncomfortable opponents for Brazil. What Pele said after learning the final schedule of his team's games was not reported.
Calendar compiled
In total, 32 teams will start in the World Cup tournament, divided into eight groups. Accordingly, the schedule exists only for the first stage, after which half of the medal applicants will go home. Moreover, it is drawn up in such a way that each of the participants will play three matches at relatively equal intervals of time and only with other teams in their group.
In particular, in group H, where by chance and balls rolled out of the lottery drum the Russian team got, Belgium and Algeria will meet on June 17, and the next day a match between Russia and South Korea will take place. On June 22, the Belgians will play against the Russians, and the Koreans against the Algerians. Finally, the games of Korea with Belgium and Algeria with Russia are scheduled for June 27.
On the starting day of the championship, three fights are planned: Brazil will take over Croatia, Mexico will fight Cameroon, and Spain will fight Holland.
Scheduled Football
The Russian national team will start their matches, respectively, at two in the morning, at eight in the evening and at midnight. And you can find out or not forget about it in a simple way: find a suitable source of information about the championship in advance.
By the way, it is quite acceptable to have several sources, because the calendar of the games hastened to be laid out by many media outlets. And although they all probably used only official data, and not, for example, Wikipedia, you need to focus only on the most reliable and proven ones. These include, first of all, the official websites of the national and continental football associations, as well as the organizing committee of the championship and holding such tournaments FIFA (International Football Federation).
There is also a Russian-language version of the FIFA website. On it, especially for Russian fans, there is a calendar of upcoming games and a ticket program.
The second group of completely trustworthy sites belongs to the most popular sports and football publications. Among the latter, we can single out the Russian "Sport-Express", which, in addition to a detailed calendar of games, regularly publishes various news about the upcoming tournament and interviews with football players and coaches.
You can also get acquainted with the schedule and even thoroughly study it in the booklets published for the tournament, reference books and, finally, in bookmakers.
Zidane's light hand
Among the main characters of the draw, after which, in fact, the schedule of the games appeared, were not only the football officials who organized it and Pele. Other specially invited world football champions of different years were also present in the hall. These are, in particular, the Frenchman Zidane, the Brazilian Cafu and the German Matthäus. By the way, it was at the suggestion of Zidane & Co. that the rivals of the Russian national team in the group became teams that were not considered favorites of the competition.
