Ski bindings are divided into three types according to their type: soft, semi-rigid and rigid. The first two types are practically not used in our time, since they do not allow you to accurately and quickly control skis. The current bindings are rigid metal devices that keep ski boots firmly in place.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase a new rigid metal mount. Inspect them carefully and make sure that there are no flaws on the product, pay special attention to whether there are any cracks on the fasteners. Assess the quality of the shackle, as well as the strength of the cleats.
Step 2
After you have purchased the mount, we proceed to install it. Start by determining the center of gravity of your ski. To do this, lay the ski so that it lies across the blade of a knife, ruler or any other longitudinal object and find a position in which the ski will take a horizontal position without additional support.
Step 3
Make sure that the longitudinal axis of your boot when you insert it into the bindings aligns with the longitudinal axis of the ski to be attached. Also make sure that the front of the bracket is aligned with its center of gravity line. This is important to ensure that body weight is evenly distributed across the skis, making it easier to control when skiing.
Step 4
Install the front screw that secures the brace to the ski. It is necessary that the welts of the boots adhere clearly to the side edges of the fastening bracket. Then insert the boot into the mount and check the position of the boot heel in relation to the load area. Here you need to ensure that the boot does not go away from the cargo area.
Step 5
Now screw in the remaining screws one by one and tighten them firmly. After that, take a drill (you can use either a hand or an electric one) and drill holes for the spikes in the soles of the boots.
Step 6
On plastic skis, boots are attached in the same way as on wooden ones. But just before screwing in the screws, drop some BF glue or epoxy into the screw holes. Proceed in the same way if the screws holding the mounts on the old wooden skis are already loose and loose.
