It's slush outside, and you have your next run on schedule? Bad weather is not at all a reason to cancel it! The sports industry offers a ton of things that can not only protect against rain and cold, but also make training as comfortable as possible - in any conditions.

So, you decided against all odds to run outdoors, and not in a stuffy gym. The choice is clear and even admirable. However, you must not forget about precautions: at temperatures around zero, you run the risk of catching a cold. Most often this happens not while running, but during stretching or while waiting for traffic signals.

Experts recommend adhering to the so-called "three-layer rule". The first, which is also the lower one, must absorb moisture and quickly evaporate it - this way the body will be protected from hypothermia. The second must properly warm, and the third must be protected from rain, snow and wind.

The best first layer is dryfit tees, tights and long sleeves. The latter are manufactured taking into account the latest "smart" technologies: for example, Nike AeroReact longsleeves have moving fibers. They react to the body temperature of the athlete, and when he begins to sweat, the material automatically becomes thinner, and therefore breathable. In general, the bottom layer of the gear regulates heat circulation and controls sweat. It is he who provides the runner with comfort, so it makes no sense to go jogging without it.

The next layer is shorts and a jacket made of excreting material. It is called excretory because it adsorbs the moisture evaporated by the body and literally brings it out, while retaining heat.

Finally, the top layer is wind and waterproof clothing. Its thickness must be selected depending on the temperature outside the window. The most versatile option is a membrane windbreaker. It will fit both in the offseason and in a slight minus.

As for shoes, the weather is also everything. Different conditions require completely different soles. In frost, snow or rain, in no case should you run in the same way as in summer. In the winter collections of any sports brand, you can always find special running shoes with a protective membrane.

Don't forget about accessories. We all remember the maxim from childhood - “keep your head warm”. In this case, in addition to the usual hats, a variety of fleece headbands and buffs (multifunctional bandanas) will come to the rescue.
