Swimming pool caps are made of various materials: lycra, latex, silicone. In addition, there are different designs that allow you to look not only sporty, but also beautiful. Silicone caps have rightfully earned the greatest popularity. They stick well to the head and serve for a long time.
Step 2
Learn to put on a pool cap before your first swim. If you have long hair, tie it in a bun at the top of your head or pull it off with an elastic band. Do not use bobby pins or sharp-edged hairpins to avoid damaging the material. Tucking your hair under a hat you put on is quite difficult, so try to immediately remove the protruding ends and bangs.
Step 3
Take the hat with both hands, turning your hands so that the palms are facing out to the sides. Spread the material 15-20 cm, depending on the diameter of the head circumference. Lean forward and bring the front inner edge of the cap to your forehead using your thumbs.
Step 4
Bring your hands back, gradually placing the cap on the entire surface of the head. Use your fingers to tuck in individual naughty curls. At the back of the head, the material should cover the hair below the hem, cover the ears.
Step 5
The hat must be carefully looked after. After swimming, remove it, starting from the back of the head. Avoid sudden movements to avoid damaging your hair. Rinse the material with cold water and let dry flat. Do not leave in the sun. When the cap is completely dry, add some talcum powder inside.
Step 6
Latex can be a cost-effective alternative to silicone, but its lifespan is much shorter. However, if you have an entire swimming wardrobe, you can match a latex hat to each swimsuit in color and style.
Step 7
Beanies made of fabrics such as lycra or polyester are more comfortable to put on, but are significantly inferior in their basic qualities. They do not stick well to the head and let water pass through, so they are only suitable for swimming without full immersion for protection from splashes or just for beauty. There is a combination beanie with a silicone outer and a Lycra inner. These models are very comfortable, but at a high price.
