In martial arts, the development of speed, which must be raised in parallel with all other parameters, is not of last importance. There are four main types of speed, which will be discussed below.

To develop overall body speed, you will need to work hard

Instructions

Step 1

Perception speed. It is practiced in situations that are repeated many times and require instant decision-making. By far the best way to practice this type of speed is through joint training (sparring). As you spar, you learn to be more alert. And vigilance is a key factor in the speed of perception.

Step 2

The next type of speed is the reaction speed. It is influenced by two related conditions. You need to be aware of what development each possible situation will receive - this is the first thing. During a match, you know which actions in a certain situation are allowed for the opponent to use, and which are not. In a real battle, you also imagine that the enemy's goal is to injure you physically. The choice of response actions in this case is narrowed down and comes down to specific response actions.

Step 3

The second factor influencing the reaction rate is reflexivity. The systematic repetition of one action leads to the fact that you begin to respond to it reflexively. Therefore, every standard attack can be repelled by you at almost instantaneous speed.

Step 4

The kind of speed that requires special attention is execution speed. You can anticipate any action, which is a tremendous advantage. But if you have insufficient speed, then you simply run the risk of not having time to reflect enemy attacks and carry out your own. This nullifies any foresight.

Step 5

You can increase the speed of execution in different ways. But the first thing to pay attention to is the details. Correct positioning of arms and legs before striking, moving to the right stance and at the right moment, carefully practicing new techniques in slow motion - all this can increase your execution speed.

Step 6

In addition, knowledge of the laws of motion affects the speed of execution. It is necessary to keep in mind that the execution of a kick, for example, will take place at a low speed if during the reception uncontrolled movements of the arms or head are made. Knowledge of the laws of motion also allows you to deliver strikes with maximum precision and accuracy.

Step 7

And a few words about the speed of recovery. It stems from the speed of execution. Here we mean the speed and correctness of the reverse, completing actions of any technique. After all, it is very important not only to carry out a blow with a hand or foot, but also correctly and as quickly as possible to take the limb to its original position. In this case, the energy will be spent much more slowly.
