All martial arts are based on staging a direct punch. Without practicing this element, it is impossible to progress and learn something new. It is worth understanding this issue in more detail.

It is necessary

  • - pear;
  • - gloves;
  • - 2 makiwars;
  • - sports uniforms;
  • - trainer;
  • - partner.

Instructions

Step 1

Practice correct hand placement. First, ask your coach to show you how to hold your hands correctly when preparing and delivering a direct hit. In the initial position, the hand should be near the face (boxing) or at the belt (karate). Next, straighten it with a sharp movement and bring your fist forward. Moreover, the hand should be thrown out relaxed and only at the last moment the fist should be clenched. Then the blow will be strong and biting. Make sure it is fully extended in the end position.

Step 2

Practice hitting the air. Once you have delivered this element under the guidance of an instructor, practice it. To begin with, an imitation of an air strike is suitable. Many people don't know, but this is a very effective way of practicing. Do 100 beats before your main workout as a warm-up. You will warm up and practice your direct hitting technique at the same time.

Step 3

Hit the bag. After a short time, include hitting the bag or pear in your general preparation. Don't hit too hard at first, work on the technique. Most importantly, minimize injury when handling the bag. Deliver a sharp, straight punch and hold your fist a few millimeters from the target's surface. Then hit the ball, barely touching the pear. Gradually increase the strength and speed of the direct punch.

Step 4

Train with a partner. After working out the technique and stuffing your fists on the pear, you can work on the impact speed and overall endurance. You will need one more person for this. Ask the trainer to hold the makiwara in both hands. Deliver sharp, straight punches to each makiwara. Do it all in motion. First, the enemy moves towards you, and then you towards the enemy. Practice this element in every workout.

Step 5

Apply all the skills you've learned in sparring. Now reinforce the straight punch in a real confrontation with a partner or opponent in a competition. Bandage your hands well and put on boxing or hand-to-hand gloves. Deliver direct striking blows to the retreating and approaching enemy in the same way as you did with the makiwaras.
