Running in the summer is a pleasure, but if you do it seriously, the onset of winter shouldn't be a reason to stop running. If you are just about to start, and there is snow outside the window, don't let that stop you either. In a sense, winter running is even healthier than summer running, because it strengthens the immune system. At the same time, it is still worth observing a number of rules so that running in winter is as useful, comfortable and safe as possible.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are a beginner runner, choose a warmer day for your first sessions. You should not start right away from minus thirty, it will not end well. Choose a temperature that is comfortable for you, so that you don’t feel cold when you are wearing winter clothes. And as for severe frosts, then with such it is better not to run at all.
Step 2
Choose the right footwear. You need sneakers specially designed for the winter period that will not crack or chill in the cold. In addition, sports shoes for winter should not be quite "close-up", but a little free, so that a layer of warm air forms between the foot and the sneaker. In tight boots, feet quickly freeze in the cold.
Step 3
The right clothes are also important. It should be comfortable and warm at the same time. It is best to use thermal underwear, then clothing that protects well from the cold, and on top - a sports jacket made of thick fabric so as not to blow in the wind.
Step 4
Warming up, which is actually important before running at any time of the year, becomes even more important in winter. Moreover, in the cold season, it is better to do it not on the street, but indoors, in order to go out into the frost already warmed up. This will minimize the risk of sprains and other injuries.
Step 5
It is important to be careful when running in winter because there can be slippery areas on the trail. You do not need to constantly look at your step, but do not immerse yourself in extraneous thoughts, remember the road. And don't go for Usain Bolt's laurels by accelerating to the max: the goal of winter running is recovery.
Step 6
Inhale the air through your nose to avoid chilling your lungs or bronchi. At the slightest sign of a cold, refrain from jogging.
