Ambroxol is an effective drug used to treat cough. However, it should be borne in mind that this medication is most effective in treating certain types of cough.
Indications for use
Instructions for the use of the drug "Ambroxol" says that this drug belongs to a group of drugs with mucolytic effects. This, in turn, means that the main direction of its action is to suppress cough, which often occurs in a person who has a cold.
In fact, "Ambroxol" is a drug aimed at relieving the symptoms of a cold or acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI), primarily cough, therefore it is usually used as part of complex therapy, other components of which are aimed at eliminating the causes of the patient's pathological condition … Therefore, one should not expect that "Ambroxol" is able to completely cure the cause of the disease.
In addition, people who are prone to colds and often suffer from their symptoms know that they can cause different types of cough, among which the so-called dry cough and wet cough are the most common. So, if a dry cough is characterized by a pronounced sensation of sore throat and lack of discharge, then a wet cough, on the contrary, is characterized by the presence of phlegm in the patient's throat.
It should be remembered that Ambroxol is a drug whose main direction of action is focused specifically on a wet cough: it liquefies viscous phlegm and promotes its separation during coughing, which, in turn, ensures the release of this microbial-rich mucus from the body and improvement of the general condition of the patient.
