Once upon a time, the badge of an athlete-discharger was almost equated with a medal or even an order. They were proud of him, they wore it for show, they took care of it as a real jewel. Nowadays, when even the title of Honored Master of Sports has become something commonplace and does not cause any special emotions in others, "some" first category does not attract attention. But as a sports concept continues to exist. For example, in hockey.
Discharge, another discharge
According to the Unified All-Russian Sports Classification, in ice hockey, or simply hockey, there are three adult categories assigned for fairly local achievements on ice to players who have not yet received the status of professionals and have not yet performed at the level of the Russian championship.
All the most famous Russian professional hockey players graduated and received their first sports categories and awards, training and playing not only in amateur and yard clubs, but also in teams of children's sports schools.
So, in order to be able to have the lowest, third rank, amateur hockey players must hold and win at least six matches in the district championship as part of a team. To receive the second category, players must be in the first line of the regional tournament table with the participation of at least five teams. Finally, in order to fulfill the standard of the first category, applicants must not only be able to play hockey, but also play in the championship of their republic with the participation of at least eight teams.
Hockey is played by real professionals
The most realistic way to become an athlete-discharger for a young fan of the puck and the stick is to study for many years in one of the specialized schools and to compete in the official youth all-Russian competitions.
The captain of the Russian national ice hockey team at the 2014 Olympics Pavel Datsyuk graduated from the Yunost Yekaterinburg hockey school in the early 90s, after which he moved to the Dynamo-Energy adult team and received an invitation to the national team.
The third sports category is awarded to girls and boys-jockey players for:
1st place in the national championship among teams under the age of 15; 3rd place among teams under 16; 7-8th - among teams under 17 and 18 years old.
The second category is awarded for:
2nd place among teams under 16; 5-6th - among teams under 17 and 18 years old.
The first category is awarded for:
1st place among teams under 16; 2nd - 4th - among teams under 17 and 18 years old.
We add that hockey players who won the championship of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation (except for Moscow and St. Petersburg) under the age of 18, the championship of the federal district, Moscow and St. Petersburg under the age of 17, or who became the second in the same team tournament under 18 years old. Also, the first category is assigned to hockey players who play in the adult championship of Russia, but who have played there less than 50% of official matches.
